                                                      Metering Organization

          Metering organization of PSPCL headed by Chief Engineer/Metering, PSPCL, Patiala is providing quality and accurate meters and metering equipment within the State of Punjab.  2 No. Circles i.e S.E./Headquarter- Metering Circle, Patiala and S.E./Metering Circle, Jalandhar are working under CE/Metering.  Procurement of Meters & Metering equipments is being done by S.E./Headquarter- Metering Circle, Patiala and there are two no. Sr. Xens under SE/HMC. There are five no. ME divisions under SE/Metering Circle, Jalandhar which are being operated by  Sr. Xens. Further, there are total 14 no. Sub Divisions, under these 5 no. ME Divisions and there is one no. ME Lab in each Sub Division, which is as under:-

  1. The flow chart of this Organisation is as under:

    1. Fully automatic meter test benches, 11 KV CT/PT Test benches and other sophisticated equipments are being made available for modernization of ME Labs/ high accuracy testing.
    2. Procurement of material is being made to replace all electro-mechanical meters installed at premises of consumers with Electronic meters.
    3. Target for the testing of various type of single phase and three phase electro-mechanical meters obtained from the field for the year 2018-19.

(i) Single Phase meter = 10, 60,000
(ii) Three Phase meter = 87,500

4 . In order to meet the field requirement, the metering organization regularly procures different types of Metal Meter Boxes, Single Phase meters, 3 Phase Meters, LT/CT, HT/TPT meters and 11 KV CT /PT units and other metering equipment. These are regularly received in ME Labs from different vendors and then issued to field as per their requirement after checking their accuracy and other tests. Similarly defective meters/metering equipment from field is also received in ME Labs and is again issued after repair in lab or after getting it repaired from vendors if its warranty has not expired.
