Massive raids were conducted throughout the state by PSPCL, Rupees 85 lacs have been assessed from 125 consumers for theft of electricity : Er.B.S.Sran

Punjab State Power Corporation Limited has launched a massive campaign against the menace of theft of electricity in the state and achieved great success .

Punjab State Power Corporation Limited CMD Er. Baldev Singh Sran disclosed that on July 6 and 7 (Saturday and Sunday), massive raids were conducted at different locations by various squads of the PSPCL throughout the state.

Er. Sran disclosed that a sum of Rupees 85 lacs have been assessed from 125 consumers for theft of power. He said that excellent results have been achieved during the raids conducted by all the enforcement squads in all the five operation zones during the weekend. He that this campaign would continue in future including weekend (Saturday and Sunday).

Patiala circle has detected 14 theft cases and a sum of Rupees 34 lacs have been assessed. Similarly a amount of Rupees 19 lacs have been charged to 50 nos consumers of Amristar city under border zone. He further added that enforcement staff of Ludhiana have detected 24 cases of theft and rupees 11 lacs have been charged. Apart from above 13 cases of Rupees 11 lacs from Bathinda circle under west zone and 17 cases of rupees 10 lacs have been detected under North Zone.

Punjab State Power Corporation Limited has appealed to all its consumers to help PSPCL in controlling the menace of theft of electricity by providing information about theft of power for campaign against theft of electricity in the state.
