SUBJECT: EVENING PEAK LOAD HOURS RESTRICTIONS ON THE INDUSTRIES – PENALIITIES FOR NON COMPLIANCE OF INSTRUCTIONS (WHERE ELECTRONIC ENERGY METERS HAVE BEEN INSTALLED).

In continuation to this office P.R.Circular 2/98 dated 28.4.98 and its partial modifications issued vide P.R.Circular No. 3/98 dated 18.5.98, P.R.Circular No. 5/98 dated 27.5.98 and P.R.Circular No. 11/98 dated 29.7.98, it has been decided to amend the Clause No. 11(ii) of Circular No. 2/98 dated 28.4.98 and may be read as under:

“All L.S.Consumers who have installed Electronic Energy Meters at their premises, if are found to have violated Peak Load Hours Restrictions, shall be charged at the following rates” :-

1) FIRST DEFAULT BLOCK

Peak Load Violation/ Rs. 50/- per KW of maximum Violations in the Time Block load used in excess of exemption of two months in which limit per day of default.

2) 2nd DEFAULT BLOCK & SUBSEQUENT

NOTE: a) If the default occurs either during first ‘half hour’ or last ‘half hour’ of Peak Load Hours Restrictions period on any day, penalty shall be levied at half the rate. If, however, the default occurs during both first ‘half hour’ as well as last ‘half hours of Peak Load Hours
Restrictions period, the penalty shall be levied at full rate.

b) If there is no default in any Time Block of two months, the next Time
Block in which the default occurs shall be counted as the ‘First Default
Block’ and in that case penalty is to be levied as mentioned at Sr.No.(1) above.

If a consumer continues violating Peak Load Hours Restrictions during the Time immediately after the First Default, the penalty shall be levied as mentioned at Sr.No. (2) above.

This amendment shall be applicable from the date from which the P.R. Circular No. 2/98 dated 28.4.98 is applicable.
