Er.Baldev Singh Sran CMD said that due to dust and windstorm which played havoc in Punjab on the night June 12, 2019 resulting Punjab State Power Corporation Limited suffered huge losses in the shape of disruption in power supply and damage of electric infrastructure in different parts of the state. He said that the electric supply in the most of the parts of the state was affected. Engineers and officials are attending to the breakdowns on war footing.
He said that that about 1425 nos poles and 224 nos distribution transformers were damaged in South zone. CMD appealed to consumers of the Punjab to cooperate with PSPCL due to inevitable situation. Er.Baldev Singh Sran said that efforts are being made to restore supply throughout the state from alternate sources.
Er.Baldev Singh Sran disclosed that PSPCL has started providing power supply to agriculture consumers for paddy season and on the first day (June 13,2019) the demand has touched 11500 MW where as the power demand was 9500 MW on June 12,2019 which shows that PSPCL has controlled the situation after dust and windstorm which played havoc on June 12 night in state.
CMD encouraged the engineers and officials of the PSPCL who promptly responded to the challenge and worked throughout the Day/Night to restore the system and provided power supply to its valuable consumers.
