Dust and windstorm played havoc in Punjab on the night of June 3, 2019. Punjab State Power Corporation Limited suffered huge losses in the shape of disruption in power supply and damage of electric infrastructure etc.


Er.Baldev Singh Sran CMD disclosed that the electric supply in the most of the parts of the state was affected. PSPCL had issued instructions to the officers/officials not to leave their headquarters and attend to the breakdowns on war footing.


He disclosed that about 200 nos 11 KV AP feeders, 170 UPS feeders and 38 nos Kandi areas feeders were affected across the state. and 125 nos poles and 55 nos transformers were damaged. He further informed that the supply in Mohali,Morinda , Kharar,and Ropar and border zone areas was most affected.He said that only 66 KV lines Ranipur-Dhaar and 33 KV lines Chatwal/Dunera (3 nos Sub Stations pending due to military area as no civilian person is allowed entry before 7 am, both lines pass through hilly and forest areas. ( 8 Nos sub stations were restored at night. Officers &officials are on war footing and attending faults.


CMD appealed to consumers of the Punjab to cooperate with PSPCL due to inevitable situation. Er.Baldev Singh Sran said that supply has however been restored throughout the state from alternate sources.


CMD instructed the engineers and officials of the PSPCL to promptly respond to the challenge and work throughout the Day/Night to restore the system and provide power supply to our valuable consumers.
