PSPCL decides to waive off condition of exceeding consumption of certain categories of consumers: Power Minister

Sh. Gurpreet Singh Kangar, Power New & Renewable Energy Resources Minister Punjab disclosed that as per decision of Punjab Cabinet, Punjab State Power Corporation Ltd. has decided to waive off the condition ofexceeding annual consumption of 3000 units w.e.f. 23.10.2017. Sh. Kangar said that all those eligible consumers whose facility of free 200 units per month was discontinued w.e.f. 23.10.2017 due to imposition of 3000 units per annum consumption limit, are now entitled for this facility from 23.10.2017.Commercial circular No.13/2019  in this regard has been issued on 7.3.2019 by PSPCL directing all the field officers to redetermine the bills as per the Cabinet decision(copy enclosed).Sh. Kangar said that the concerned consumers are not required to submit any written request for restoration of this facility. He further said eligible consumers (due to withdrawal of Clause of 3000 units condition), whose bills are still outstanding, will be given benefit of free units of 200 per month and they will be served new revised bills after allowing this concession from back date (No Late Payment Surcharge/Late Payment Interest shall be levied). He said that consumers will be given 15 days’ time to deposit their revised bills and shall be allowed to deposit their bills in installments if they desire so.
