Punjab State Power Corporation Limited has started providing 8 hours uninterrupted power supply to its agriculture consumers in the state for paddy from today,this was disclosed by Er. Baldev Singh Sran CMD PSPCL here today.
. Er.Sran said that daily power supply to all AP consumers in the state has been divided into 3 groups at each sub-station and AP consumers ,along side the international border of Punjab will be provided 8 hours power supply during day timings.
CMD expected that during the paddy season the maximum demand may rise up to 12500 MW and PSPCL has already arrangements for 13000 MW. Er.Sran said that the maximum demand (on first day i.e June 20,2018 at 11:00AM ) of the paddy season touched 10100 MW which was met with easily.
He said that PSPCL Thermal Plants ,Guru Hargobind Thermal Plant, Lehra Mohabat and Shri Guru Gobind Singh Super Thermal Plant ,Ropar are generating power on the full capacity of the plants. Besides this Rajpura Thermal Plant and Talwandi Sabo Power Plant are also generating power and providing to PSPCL.
CMD assured that all consumers of the Punjab would be provided continuous, uninterrupted and quality power supply in the state.
He said that PSPCL has also made planning for power through banking and purchase arrangements with different sources.
He said that experts of Green Tribunal and Punjab Agricultural University have shown great concern overt the declining of water table in Punjab. He said that as per the agricultural experts eight hours poer supply is sufficient for paddy plantation.
