Picture Power House no 5 of Mukerian Hydel Stage-II Project,

With the commissioning of one unit of 2 of 2×9 MW Mukerian Hydel Stage-II Project, Punjab State Power Corporation Limited would generate additional generation of 1.93 Lacs units of electricity per day and which will reduce power purchase of Rs/- 6.80 Lacs per day.This was disclosed by Sh.A.Venu Prasad IAS Principal Secretary Power Punjab Govt. cum CMD PSPCL & PSTCL here in a press note issued by a spokesman of PSPCL.
Sh.A.Venu Prasad said that one unit of this project of 9 MW capacity has been synchronized on May 19 and same has been put in commercial operation on June 6,2017. He also said that the estimated cost of construction of 2×9 MW MHP is around 242.43 Crores and erection and commissioning work awarded by BHEL in year 2011.
CMD Sh.A.Venu Prasad added that at this project, the power is generated at 11 KV and is delivered to Grid by stepping up to 66 KV. and Power House (MHP Stage-II, PH-5) is connected to grid through two 66 KV Lines, one Line connected to 66KV Bhattian Jattan sub-station (under DS Division, Mukerian) and the 2nd Line connected to Power House No. IV. He further added that with the commissioning of this project will result into improvement in the system voltage stability and power availability in the region to meet with the continuous and uninterrupted demand of power supply. The 2nd unit i.e. # 1 is expected to be ready for commissioning by Oct, 2017
The total installed capacity of MHP Stage-I is 207 MW. The 2×9 MW, MHP Stage-II Project is constructed on Mukerian Hydel Channel-II .
