Going with the vision of Government of India ‘s Digital India campaign, Punjab State Power Corporation Limited has partnered with Paytm, to enable easy online bill payments for its electricity consumers across the Punjab . Sardar Rana Gurjeet Singh, Honorable Irrigation & Power Minister, Punjab, while launching the service informed that under Digital India, Punjab Government is fully focused on leveraging technology to simplify the lives of our citizens and making the idea of ?ease of doing things? a reality. He said that PSPCL consumers can now instantly pay their electricity bills within seconds at their convenience and thus can save their precious time from queues at cash counters.
Speaking on the partnership, Principal Secy.Power ,Punjab Govt.cum Chairman & Managing Director of PSPCL & PSTCL Sh. A Venu Prasad, IAS said, ?PSPCL has already given the facilities of E-payment on its website, through Debit Card, Credit Card, Net Banking etc. With the view tofurther promote online collection of electricity bills, PSPCL is happy to collaborate with Paytm to enable quick, seamless and easy bill payment experience. Consumers can tap on the ?Electricity? icon in their Paytm App, choose Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) as their preferred electricity utility, enter their consumer number and can make the payment instantly in few steps.PSPCL consumerscan now pay their electricity bills throughPaytm and enjoy the convenience of easyonline electricity bill payments.We hopethat PSPCL consumers will find this service very convenient and worthwhile. Partnering with Paytmwill help us making the online bill paymentfacility more accessible to lakhs of consumers across Punjab. Further, there are no transaction charges till 31st Dec. 2017 and this facility is totally free, whether the consumer uses Debit card, Credit card, Net-Banking or Paytm wallet.? He further added that PSPCL has also decided to allow other digital means like the option of RTGS & NEFT to its high end consumers, mobile tower companies etc.shortly and this will be a major step towards doing business in an easy way.Sh.S.S.Sidhu MLA Mohali ,Er.K.L.Sharma Director Distribution PSPCL and senior officers of PSPCL also graced the occasion.
