U.B.D.C POWER HOUSES, STAGE-I & II (91.35 MW)
Upper Bari Doab Canal Hydro Electric Project (UBDC) is located near Pathankot in Punjab . There are three Power Houses situated on this Canal fed from Madhopur head Works on river Ravi. This Project comprises of two stages of Hydro Power stations. Both stages have one generating unit at each Power House having a generating unit of 15MW was commissioned during 1971-73. Stage-II of having a generating unit of 15.45 MW was erected and commissioned during 1989-92. The two stages of UBDC Hydro Electric Project have a total installed capacity of 91.35 MW.

P.S.E.B (now PSPCL) had to incur an expenditure of 18.28 crore through Pb. Irrigation department for re-modelling of escape channel at RD- 72720 to enhance its capacity from 1500 Cusses to 7200 Cusses. This work was completed in 7/2004 due to which full generation from UBDC PHs became possible during lean period when Irrigation Indent is NIL. All the three old and sluggish governors of Stage-I machines have been replaced with the new Micro processor based governors at a cost of 3.07 Crore during the year 2010-11.
The case for capital mtc. of stage-I machine of power house no.1 is under process. The annual mtc. of machines is done regularly.
