CHIEF ENGINEER/THERMAL DESIGNS

There are Five Directorates and One Accounts Office alongwith Works Section under the Admn. of

CE/Thermal Designs. The classification of work under each Directorate is as under: -

ELECTRICAL DIRECTORATE

To deal with the Main Electrical Equipment of GHTP Stage-II i.e. Turbine & Generator, Switch Yard

Control & Instrumentation (C&I), Transformers, Switchgears, Breakers, Isolators, Cabling, lighting etc.

MECHANICAL DIRECTORATE

Mainly to deal with Boiler its Auxiliaries and other allied works like Coal Handling Plant (CHP), Ash Handling

Plant (AHP), DM Plant, L.P. Piping, H.P. Piping, Fire Fighting & Protection Systems & Handling of Fly Ash etc.

CIVIL DIRECTORATE

To deal with Cooling Tower, Chimney, Ash Dykes, Raw Water System, Main Plant and other foundations &

piling etc.

PROJECT DIRECTORATE

To deal with the finalization of new thermal plants .

FLY ASH DIRECTORATE

To deal with the utilisation of Dry Fly Ash concerned with the three projects i.e. GNDTP Bathinda, GGSSTP

Ropar & GHTP Lehra Mohabbat.

ACCOUNTS OFFICE

To deal with the firms in respect of their payments and advance, besides financial aspects.

WORKS SECTION

This is an integrated part of Chief Engineer Office to assist for compiling information received from

all Directorates of Thermal designs as well as from Site Offices & administrative matters.
