The Project is to be executed on River Ravi. 11 KM downstream of Ranjit Sagar Dam and 7.8 KM upstream of Madhopur Head works.

It will provide a balancing Reservoir to ensure Uniform supply at Madhopur Head works and to enable Ranjit Sagar Power Plant to work as a peaking station.

Clearances & present status:

i) This project stands cleared by CEA, Ministry of Environment & Forest & Planning Commission.

ii) MOA stands signed  between PSPCL and PFC on 21.12.09 for availing loan of Rs. 1681.47 Cr. From PFC for which GOP has given guarantee.
iii) Appartionment of cost between PSPCL and Irrigation is in the ratio of 71.39% and 28.61%.
iv) NIT for appointment of consultant for E&M  works was  floated on dt. 04.05.11.The price bids  were opened on 19.10.11. The draft memorandum seeking approval for issue of  work order / contract to lowest tenderer is under consideration.
